| You have propably installed a localized version of the MS Data Access Components. Please install the English version of the component available from Microsoft. |

| After image analysis the error log shows many files have no 'EOF Marker', what can I do? |
| All files should have an EOF marker, but especially files retrieved from newsgroups often lack this marker. This means the file is damaged although most of the time only a few bytes are missing. The problem can be corrected by resaving the file using an image editor. |
| While adding a directory I get error 16384 (collectionitem.label cant be zero length string). What should I do? |
| The drive from which you are adding files has no label. Correct this by right-clicking the drive in your windows explorer and seleting properties. Fill out the label field. |
| After analysis no images are analysed and the error-log shows all files without extensions? |
| This occurs because your explorer hides the file-extensions, please go to the tools menu in your explorer, select folder options. Uncheck the hide known filetypes option on the view tabsheet. |
| Why does the software generates new station identifiers, so I have to get a new key? |
| The software needs to uniquely identify your system, in case of reinstallation or hardware update, the software will generate a new station identifier.
You can aquire a new key on our support page, if your email has changed since registration, drop us a note at support including the old and new email address. |
| The program has some erratic behaviour causing it to freeze or give a lot of error messages. |
| The program relies heavily on microsoft libraries (DLL). Since many older programs cause older version of libraries to be written to the system directories this could cause erratic behaviour. Below you will find 3 links to runtime updates, to bring your runtimes back to the latest versions:

| When renaming a file the program locks up or says the filename already exists. |
| Try installing the latest version of the Microsoft scripting technology, available at Microsoft Scripting site. |
| When using SQL-Server 2000 an error occurs regarding a duplicate key constraint on the 'duplicates' table. |
| You need to modify the tables constraint using your enterprise manager and turn on 'cascading deletes/updates'. If you have trouble with this contact our support staff for an update script. |

| If you select fewer directories to compare at once you will have to sort out less duplciates. You do not need to worry about missing a duplicate, because all images are compared to the entire scanned images collection. |

| If you disable the auto expand/collapse feature in the configuration screen you can navigate all duplicates with the arrow-keys (use left/right for collapse and expand), if you want to remove a duplicate from the list, just select it and hit insert. If you want to delete an image, select it and hit delete. |
| Tip: Increase program performance |
| You can enable connection pooling by opening the control panel and selecting the ODBC Datasource control panel, go to the connection pooling tab and double-click the Access driver, turn on the connection pooling by selecting the appropriate option. You will see a noticable performance improvent of the software. |
